Open Call | Becoming NYCxDesign Festival

BECOMING Art x Design Festival (NYCxDESIGN) explores the process of transformation through contemporary art and design. Presented by NotYetArt, the festival features selected designers and artists across two sections—Becoming Art and Becoming Design—highlighting how ideas evolve through material, method, and time.

Exhibition dates are May 16–18, 2026, with an Opening Reception on May 16 at 6:00 PM. Adopting a hybrid format, BECOMING expands beyond physical boundaries through both offline and online presentations. The onsite exhibition is hosted with venue partner NextG Artech, creating a space for audiences to encounter works in person and engage with the “becoming” of form, function, and meaning.

For global access, the online component will be presented in a VR virtual gallery, extending the exhibition into an immersive digital environment. Together, the physical and virtual experiences invite audiences to witness transformation in real time—across mediums, disciplines, and dimensions.
